And now to the present. The 350 had been sat in the shed for a long while. I bought another bike an XJ600 and this was my main project for the last couple of years. I decided to cut my losses and get rid of that. Over the Christmas period, I decided to fix the Pan up (this will be up soon) and once this was out of the shed I then decided to find out if the engine ran for it. It had been sat outside covered, however, it kept getting uncovered and I did keep turning the engine over by hand. On thisRead More →

It was time to get back to some painting of various pieces and fitting things back together. New bearing where fitted to the wheels and the old sprocket carrier was given a massive clean and touch up along with the oil cooler pipes and the exhaust fittings. The rear shocks were given a clean and polish to make more presentable. And new HT leads were made out and mounted on the coil. I then painted up the coil mount and mated the two together. Forks painted and mounted to the front of the frame. Rear light fitting cleaned and painted with new mini indicators fitted.Read More →

The first stages of this project are to strip down the old bike. The wheels were off at the powder coaters getting ready for the final bike and this left a shell of a bike on my drive.   The wires were labeled so I can remember where they go upon the rebuilding process. and the engine was drained for removal from the frame after much persuasion. After a short while, I retrieved the frame and wheels back from the powder coaters and had the tires re attached to them. The frame was looking good, despite some corrosion along the sear mount area.   AllRead More →

Welcome to my Honda CB350 SG Project (1986) This is an ongoing Project and I Will be adding to my blog posts, as and when I get time to complete updates. Some Background; I bought this little beast in the winter of 2011 as I hadn’t owned a bike for almost 2 years, I was on the verge of losing almost 8 years no claims bonus. I decided it was cheaper to buy a cheap bike to insure than to lose all my NCB. I spotted this bike while on my travels at the local breakers shop and stopped and took a look, and placedRead More →

Day 1 Well, this was the first road trip my girlfriend and I decided to go on. As in every trip we do each year, it is planned around our birthdays towards the end of April and beginning of May. We left in the afternoon if the 27th April for the 1st leg. We were planning on heading up to the lake district and spending the night there to break the journey almost in half.  The weather was not great, some light rain causing things to be a little on the chilly and damp side, but we made it to the hostel around 9 pm.Read More →

To Conclude. I rode from Killarney to Tarbert and donned the ferry to Killmer. This only took about 30mins, but the wind had brewed up some nice waves, and the deck was getting a tad wet, but we made it across safely. I decided to head to the campsite at Clifden, as according to their website, it was not far from Galway. How wrong was I! I rode over an hour to Galway and stopped to warm up at Maccers and to get some WiFi and see if there were any hostels around. There were one or two, however, I had just bought a newRead More →

Day 4 Anyway, Wednesday we split up and I headed to Dublin. Just over 3 hrs on the ferry. I was all set to stay at my mother in laws house in MultyFarnham, however, due to some miss-understandings, and arguments with the other half that didn’t happen. I decided to try and find a camping shop to buy a new tent, as I wasn’t going to sleep another night in the leaking sieve that was my current tent. I Docked just after 5 and set off on my Irish Trip. Well, I made a start! Dublin traffic is worse than London, and it was stop-startRead More →

ell, here it goes. Myself, Sam and two of his fellow biker mates (Alex & James). They had arranged it a month or two ago and I asked if I could tag along on the Pan, now I have a bike that can do the distance. Alex is from Belgium and is still completing his mammoth UK tour, I came home Sat night, and Sam came home Friday, as I think James did. Pan Loaded up, I made my way to Sams to meet him, and get on our way. Sam had serviced his trusty bros and was just loading it up, after 30mins orRead More →
