Welcome back to another adventure
This adventure across the green isle was a little different. This time I had my partner in tow as pillion! This time I decided to video the road trip and make a documentary on the journey, so I hope you will enjoy the below videos.
We started the trip with the bike in pieces the night before. About a week earlier it wouldn’t fire correct, and would only rev poorly and sounded like 3 cylinders only were working.
I stripped the bike down, carbs off, cleaned them out as they were blocked with a dissolved foam air pre-filter. The carb boots were hard and cracked, letting in air and also the vacuum hoses were all split again leading to air leaks. All of these were resolved and I cleaned up the plugs.
Upon re-inserting one plug, it decided to snap on me, at just over hand tight! The next day or so was spent working out ways to remove, but eventually, it came out with ease with a large flat blade screwdriver, and then a hoover and pipe to stuff in the head to pick up any broken plug.
