Welcome to my Honda CB350 SG Project (1986) This is an ongoing Project and I Will be adding to my blog posts, as and when I get time to complete updates.
Some Background;
I bought this little beast in the winter of 2011 as I hadn’t owned a bike for almost 2 years, I was on the verge of losing almost 8 years no claims bonus. I decided it was cheaper to buy a cheap bike to insure than to lose all my NCB. I spotted this bike while on my travels at the local breakers shop and stopped and took a look, and placed a deposit on the beast. Just before Christmas, I picked her up.

She was in a fair state for her age, but for £400 I was happy enough. She started and rode, however, she seemed to misfire a bit and bog down, I even managed to get stopped and warned for speeding on new years eve when trying to clear her throat and the second cylinder kicked in.
A quick strip and clean of the carbs and she was running like new and had plenty of poke for a small 350cc lump. She was reliable and even in the bad snow, we had the following year she started on the button!

After a while, though she started to burn through the oil, and rattle a fair bit. It seemed the cam chain tensioner was on its way out. The rear shocks were also leaking real bad as well. I ended up buying an old classic ninja and using that as my daily. But alas I had grown an emotional attachment to this little bike, so it was decided I would do a complete nut and bolt rebuild.
A trip to Nottingham was on the cards after a win on eBay for almost a complete bike with an engine to go into the frame of mine. so the strip down and rebuild was set to begin with the idea to be based around this CB450S.
